Measure Twice, Tweet Once

Since my last post was a little on the long side, this one will be short and sweet.

One of the great thing about social media is the ease at which you can spread information and promote brands.  From @TonyHawk to the Moonfruit, there’s a lot of opportunity to really promote your brand.  Or, there’s a lot of opportunity for you to tarnish your image.

Before engaging in a social media campaign, really think about what it is you want to accomplish and why anyone should care.  Don’t just copy what a competitor has done or thing someone’s great idea can be retrofit to your own brand’s marketing program.

Be creative, unique and take your time.  Don’t be one of the many Tweets and case studies out there about brands that have blown it through online communication.  If you’re hesitant, start small and work your way up.
